It was back to Duke on Friday for meetings, tests, etc…

Here is a quick note from Clayton recapping the events of the day:

Met with Dr Ready ( My Chemo Dr. ) this morning at 9am talked to him about my chemo and the case study.

At 10am got fitted for my mask for radiation and had a CT scan with mask on.

This scan with the mask will be put in the computer to help design my program for the radiation.

Clayton, I sure wish there was something that I could do for you. You are very blessed to have so many people that care about you and are praying for you. I bet that makes you walk a little taller! You are a big man indeed. Thanks for posting your activities for us. Get well and God Bless.

Clayton,
Everyone at Maynard’s is praying for you and your family. We certainly missed you at our little “rep-get-together” this past Wednesday. Before our BBQ dinner, Dad prayed for you, and all of the reps did too. There was something missing w/o you there! We’ll look forward to the next time when you can make everyone laugh w/ your jovial personality. See you soon and stay strong.

Stay strong Clayton and don’t give up. Remember all of the sibling competition that the four of us had??? We have been given the courage and strength from our parents to be competitors and survivors. Lean on your God and your family for strength. Try not to indulge in frustration. Keep focused on the end result. Duke wants to cure you. They want to do it right!! Put your trust in the Lord foremost, but also with your doctors. I love you.

Your sister, Jennifer

Hand in there cuz’… We’re praying for ya! See you soon.

Clayton,
It’s been quite sometime since we’ve seen each other. I was so sorry to hear about your illness. This website is wonderful in the fact that it let’s everyone know your progress and it let’s you know how many people are thinking of you and praying for you. You are a strong Christian person and you have the faith to get you through this. My family is certainly thinking about you and keeping you in our prayers.

Clayton,
I just want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. God, along with your friends and family, will get you through this obstacle in your life.
Take Care,
Maria Wright

Clayton and Family,
Just want you to know that GOD is definitely at work in the prayer circles He is weaving together for you. I grew up just down the road from the Abernathys on Bolick Road, and my mom used to babysit Clayton when he was little (Susan Miller). I now work with Jenny at St Stephens and enjoy Virginia’s fired pies from time to time. I also remember Paege being the most beautiful girl of all at Bandys High when my mom taught there and I would go with her to ballgames and the pageants. Though we don’t know each other directly, this is all evidence of how the Body of Christ works–we bear each other’s burdens. As I read the posts, I know that you are a strong family deeply rooted in Christ’s promise to never leave you or to forsake you. May this be a time that you truly casts all your cares on Him; lay all of your burdens at His feet. Lean not on your own understanding. Acknowledge the Lord in all of your ways, and He will keep your path to a cure straight!!
My husband, Kevin, and I, along with our two girls, Kara and Anna, pray for you each day. Keep the faith, knowing you are lifted up in prayer by many!!
With prayers for your peace,
Kevin, Erin, Kara & Anna Sipe

Bless you Clayton as you go through this struggle. Gain strength in knowing others care and understand. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I survived breast cancer, four years out, and know you will be able to say, I am a survivor too. Jon’s big sister, Susan

Clayton, Paege, Jessica, and Caleb,

Bob, Michael, Mark and I are praying each and every day for God to have Clayton’s team of doctors and physicians in His Mighty Hands. We pray that God will perform His miracles through them. God’s word says where two or more are gathered in His name, so He is there. You have so many friends and family praying for you, I know God is with you. Stay strong and faithful!

For He will command His angels to guard you in all your ways. Psalms 91:11

Clayton, Paege, Jessica and Caleb,
I just wanted to let you guys know that you’re in my thoughts and prayers. Clayton, with your faith in God and the support of your wonderful family this will soon be a distant memory! Get well soon!
Anna

Sounds like you’re hanging tough Homer! As Lance Armstrong says, “Whatever your 100% looks like, give it.” Stay strong and stay focused.

Today , I went to see Clayton. He looks and sounds like the “ole Clayton we know & love. We enjoyed a good visit. Laughed a lot too. You are so blessed to have such a great attitude , and I can see God’s hand in all of this. Continue to seek His wisdom, and God will lead you to a peaceful decision as to the “study”, and it’s effects, etc. Be strong, and keep your eyes on Jesus. We continue to pray and ask God’s blessings on you and your family. Whatever we can do to help, you know how to get in touch with us. We love you….A. Ellen & U. Rob

Clayton-Paege-Jessica

Love always..Angela & Richard

Clayton,

Just wanted to let you know that I was thinking of you and something that my theropist told me came to mind. “It’s going to get worst, before it gets better.” Meaning that, yeah, you may have to endure some pretty bad times with all your treatments and stuff, but in the long-run, you will get better. Just remember, Mark 10:27 “With God, all things are possible!” And we all know that you have Him!!!

Love and Prayers,

Lisa

Dear Clayton,
I have been in Africa and did not hear of your new challenge until today. It seems that the physicians have a good plan for you recovery. It will take some patience on your part and that will be hard. You are fortunate to have so many family members around for support. I shall pray for you nightly and look forward to seeing you at the reunion.
Love’
Cousin Hubert
