Clayton, just wanted to let you know that we are praying for you. I’m so sorry that I live this far away when these times hit. I wish I could help out somehow physically, but I guess I will just have to pray.
We love you and Paege very much!

Clayton,
You know I am praying for all of you! Whatever you need all you have to do is ask. Dad made it through a very similar situation and you will too. Listen to your doctors and do what they say. That is the hardest part, listening. Now is the time to do it! God always has a plan and trust Him.
Love all of you very much and will continue to pray for you all. I mean what I say, if you need anything, call!!!!

It sounds like you are in good hands here on earth, and there is no doubt about the hands holding you from above. Know that you are surrounded in love and support. Cuz….you know you have our house to stop in anytime you need it while heading to or from Duke. No need to call; just stop and let yourself in if we’re not there. Take a break, catch a nap or just use the bathroom….you need it; you just grab it. We’ll square up at a later time. ![]()

We thought this was a pretty good Cancer chant for you …
THE CANCER CHANT, I WILL RANT
Cancer I did not give you the right,
To invade my body and take a bite.
This is my body and with all my might,
I will prevail with one hell of a fight.
To the cancer inside, I will battle and kill.
For that is my body’s God given will.
To my cancer, these words I do send.
Your life is short and near the end.

Clayton,
I want you to know that you are in my daily prayers for healing and strength through this very difficult time in your life. I praise God that you know him intimately so that you are never alone. I pray today that you will hold on to Him every second and you will rejoice!!!
…but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, HOPE!!!! Romans 5:3,4 Also take comfort, Clayton that
…Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example that you should follow in His steps 1 Peter 2:21.
Christ chose you and I know he will lead you through this.
We are brothers and sisters in Christ and I am praying for you.

Clayton,
I have been praying for you as I went through this same cancer with my brother several years ago. I know how difficult this is for you now and how difficult it will be in the coming months. If I can offer any words of encouragement to you, it is that my brother has been cancer free for 2 years now. He too had his throat, neck, tongue and everything “fried”. It was a difficult road, but with the feeding tube he was able to maintain some strength to do the basic things. He had times when he wanted to give up, but with a daughter at home, he would not let this beat him. You too have that same strength. Just allow God to walk and carry you through this. We don’t always understand why, but God does and for whatever reason this happened, you will be a better person when it is all over. May God be your light through these “dark” days and know that we are praying for you, we are pulling for you, and you have a whole “army” of people that love and care about you. God Bless!!!!!

Clayton, Paege & Jessica,
We are praying for you and your family. Fred is a prostrate cancer survivor, since July 1992. He had emergency heart bypass surgery 9 months ago, but you know what? God still is in control and we give him thanks each day for his love, mercy & grace. What an awesome God that we have. When the going gets so rough, let him know to please hold your hand, that you cannot do this, without him. He gave you such a wonderful wife to be by your side. Your faith, family & friends will see you through this. Just hang in there and take 1 day at a time. God Bless You All!
